At the moment we have only seven northern white rhinos in the world, four of them being found in this boma. Check it here: Endangered Species Boma

The boma also has two black rhinos, six southern white rhinos and several Jackson’s Hartebeest and Grevy’s Zebras. Visitors to this place can pre-book their spaces due to the limitation of two vehicles being allowed access per day.

The Swetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary

Within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy is Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The sanctuary cares for more than 800 orphaned or confiscated chimpanzees. Established in 1993, it was designed as a refuge for orphaned chimpanzees that were evacuated from a Burundian civility due to the outbreak of the 1994 civil war.

Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is the only place in Kenya where you can enjoy the view of non-indigenous chimpanzees. The island inhabited by the chimpanzees is divided into two by a river. One half being occupied by the older chimps while the other half by the younger ones.
